Excuse the trumpet-blowing, but it’s been a bit of a summer with my poetry and competitions. One poem got itself shortlisted for the Plough poetry prize, another was longlisted in the Write By The Sea poetry competition in Ireland, a third was highly commended in the McLellan Poetry Prize (Scotland), and yet another was highly commended in the Welsh Poetry competition. Meanwhile, the recording of a fifth poem made its way onto the shortlist for the Plaza Audio prize.
None of that’s too shabby. Huge congratulations to the winners in each of those competitions, and to everyone else who made it onto the various shortlists/commendations.
